Garlic originates from Central Asia and it is part of the family of Liliaceae. Nowadays it is produced all over the world and people enjoy the health benefits of this remedy. This is lively herbaceous plant that it composed of dozen teeth wrapped in a silky white membrane that are arranged circularly around the root stem.
The general use of garlic has been since ancient time, and for purposes of food and medicine. The most famous use was during the middle ages when it was considered as main ingredient that helps against plague.
Louis Pasteur in 1858 was the first to study the antibiotic properties of garlic. In 1950s, Dr. Albert Schweitzer used garlic for treatment of cholera, dysentery, and typhus in Africa. Also it was used for treatment of injuries during the WW II.
Nowadays garlic is also used as natural remedy for treatment of different conditions and diseases such as cancer, stroke, atherosclerosis, immune disorders, brain aging, arthritis, and cataracts. Due to its high amount of nutrients and antioxidants it is used for cooking purposes.
There are many people that dislike the smell of garlic, but in fact the aroma comes from the active ingredient allicin, which helps transform the various organosulfur compounds that reduce the oxidation and inflammation.
Lose weight with garlic:
You will need to peel raw garlic and split it into several pieces. You should swallow each clove with glass of water like you are swallowing a pill. Make sure that you do it on empty stomach. This way you will also lose weight, but also reduce the cholesterol levels and hypertension.
You will need to boil 3 cups of water and once it reaches the boiling point you will need to put 3 garlic cloves in it (make sure they are peeled). Also you should add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder, and afterwards let it cool before you consume it.
You will need to put 1 clove garlic (chopped raw) in a one cup of boiling water. Cover the pan and let it cool down. Add lemon juice in the mixture and consume it on empty stomach.
Be aware that garlic could irritate the digestive system if excessively consumed. You should consume 5 cloves per day in order to avoid bloating, stomach ache, diarrhea and injury of the red blood cells.
You will have intense smell by the garlic but don’t worry it will go away in 4-14 hours. One way to counteract this is to consume parsley.
