Natural Solutions And Remedies To Relieve Itching And Redness Caused By Mosquito Bites!

Summertime is probably the favorite time of the year for most people, but this great feeling of summer is easily destroyed by the bites of mosquitoes. These insects are really tedious because aside the fact that they bite there are side effects as well, and those are itching and redness.

However, this should not stop you to enjoy those pleasant summer days in your backyard as in this article we shall present you techniques which are very effective in relieving itching and redness caused by mosquito bites.

The itching occurs as a result of the protein found in the saliva of the mosquito, which uses it to prevent blood clot under high temperatures.

  1. Water and soap
    Once you are bitten, immediately clean the bitten area with water and soap so that you quickly remove the large part of the mosquito saliva and ease the itching.
  2. Ice
    This is very efficient solution put a few ice cubes in a cloth and then place the cloth with ice cubes as coating on the bite. The swelling and the itching will be gone almost immediately.
  3. Hot spoon

Place a spoon under hot water for 15 seconds and wait till it becomes warmed. Then, put the spoon onto the afflicted area, and hold it for a minute till the spoon gets cold. When you remove the spoon you will notice that the itching is gone.

  3. Baking soda
    Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate is very helpful with the irritation caused by insect bites.
  4. Apple Cider Vinegar
    Just soak a piece of cotton ball in this vinegar and apply it onto the bitten spot and then leave it to act for several minutes.
  5. Lemon or lime
    These citric fruits can soothe the itching part thanks to the presence of citrus acid.
  6. Oatmeal
    For this solution you will need to prepare a mixture made of a little bit of porridge and some water. Once it is prepared, apply it on the affected area and let it dry. After that, wash it off with warm water.
  7. Aspirin
    For this purpose you will need to crush half a tablet of aspirin or for that matter any other pain reliever, and then mix it with a drop of water. Use this mixture to apply it onto the bite.
  8. Alcohol
    Alcohol is used for cleaning the affected area of the mosquito bite. Soak a cotton bud in alcohol and then gently rub the bite. By doing so, you will remove the remnants of mosquito saliva.
  9. Tooth paste
    Use this solution before going to bed so that the tooth paste stays longer on the affected area. Just apply some tooth paste on the mosquito bite and leave it to dry out. It works because the tooth paste dries the bite thereby eliminating the swelling and the irritation.
