Beware of this scam because it is very common. You can easily sell sugar syrup at an astonishing price by saying that it is organic raw honey! So here is a tip, long used by our grandmothers to recognize true natural honey from false honey.
- Mix in a cup of water and honey and add a drop of apple cider vinegar. If the honey does not foam, it contains plaster and it is false.
- If the honey does not crystallize especially in winter, means that it’s not pure and organic.
- Real honey ignites when lit with a match, so be sure to try this trick to see if the honey you have is truly organic.
- And last but not least, ALWAYS check the label of the honey you buy. NEVER buy it if it contains high fructose corn syrup or glucose.
