The hormone production by the thyroid is a result of the constant communication of two glands in the brain, the hypothalamus and pituitary organ. The production of TSH Releasing hormone TRH is made by hypothalamus. This is a sign for the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4 depending on the need. Then it releases hormone which is called thyroid stimulating hormone TSH.

This thyroid organ produces about 85% of T4 hormones. This hormone is known that it is non-active type. When this T4 hormone is produced there is a small amount of it which is changed to T3 which is considered the active hormone. This T3 hormone changes into Free T3 (FT3) or Reverse T3 (RT3). This FT3 hormone is responsible for increase in your digestion system.
