Swelling or otherwise known as edema is a condition of buildup fluid in the tissues of the body. The accumulation of fluids occurs due to several factors such as pregnancy, hypertension, and quite frequent as a result of kidney issue.
This condition is not dangerous, but it is very uncomfortable. However, if you notice that one foot or leg is swelling substantially more than the other, you have to visit your doctor as it may be a blood clot that needs to be solved as quickly as possible.
Here below are some baths which can be very helpful with this issue.
TONIC WATER BATH
As strange as it may sound, tonic water can really aid you in soothing inflamed feet and ankles.
All you have to do is to soak your feet in room temperature tonic water or in a cold one if you can stand it, for 30 minutes. The quinine and the bubbles are of great assistance in decreasing swelling.
SALT WATER BATH
Seawater bath is very beneficial for treating this concern; just add a handful of Epsom salts in a container of water sufficient enough to cover your ankles. Epsom salts are amazing ingredient for relaxing the muscles.
- Half a cup of mint leaves
- 4 cups of water
Use a pot and place mint leaves and water in it. Put it on heat and leave it for around 10 minutes. After that, remove it from heat, and leave it to cool off for about 10 minutes. Then, pour the water in a bucket and soak your feet for half an hour.
