Cheetah Sees Photographer Napping Under a Tree, Decides to Join In

The animal world is really amazing and all those photos that we can see once and awhile thanks to the diligence of photographers opens the door to their magnificent world.

The images that are being captured are not staged but spontaneous, struggling, and sentient. The wildlife has its own zeal, strength, beauty, and grace, and that is that makes us excited when observing them.

Dolph Volker is an established wildlife photographer and zoologist, who also works as a volunteer at the Cheetah Experience in South Africa. The Cheetah Experience is a non-profit organization that offers home to the endangered and threatened species, like cheetahs, leopards, African wildcats, Siberian tiger, male non-breeding lions, wolves, servals, caracals, and meerkats.

Volker had a dog with whom he shared a special bond, bur unfortunately passed away. He was very sad and wanted to do something for the animals by taking a part in the fight for animal rights. Hence, most of his vacations he spent as a volunteer at the Cheetah Experience. He helped also financially and tried his best to raise awareness for the endangered species.

During his stay with the Cheetah Experience something extraordinary happened to him one day. After long hours of wandering in the wild, he felt tired and decided to have a nap under a tree. He was spotted by a cheetah named Eden, and approached him, sniffed him, and decided to cuddle with him. Commonly cheetahs are shy animals, and if someone wants to get in touch with them he or she needs to work for months to gain their confidence.

In the case of Dolph, he managed to gain the confidence of Eden and once he opened his eyes, he was left speechless.

This encounter between Eden and Dolph is not one time thing; they have developed such close friendship that Eden considers Dolph as his own specie. Eden plays with him, cuddles him, purrs and snuggles with him thus showing her deep affection towards him.

Due to this remarkable friendship, Dolph spends most of his time in the company of cheetahs, and people call him “The Cheetah Whisperer.”
