This fruit is an excellent substitute for the conventionally used eggs and butter, but first it needs to be properly prepared.
First you need to nicely remove the skin and pit, and then scoop it into a blender or food processor. In order not to get brown add 2 tablespoons to each cup of avocado puree.
The ratio used for replacing avocado with eggs and butter is the following one:
- 1 cup of mashed avocado for 1 cup of butter
- 2 tablespoons or 1/4 cup for each egg.

Recipe of Lactose-Free Chocolate Cake with Avocado
Required Ingredients for the Cake:
- 3 cups of almond flour
- 1 ripe avocado (mashed)
- 5 tablespoons of cacao powder
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 2 teaspoons of baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon of sea salt
- 1 ½ cup raw cane sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
- ¼ cup of avocado or coconut oil
- 2 cups of water
- 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
Required Ingredients for the Frosting:
- 2 ripe avocados (mashed)
- 6 tablespoons of cacao powder
- 2 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
First you need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Take out two 9” round cake pans and then grease and flour them nicely. Next, in a large bowl combine all dry cake ingredients, but without the sugar.
In a separate bowl mix all the wet ingredients and then add the sugar. After everything is nicely combined add it to the dry mixture, and mix everything till you get a smooth batter. The resulting mixture divide it between the two pans, and bake for 30 minutes.
While the cake is in the oven baking, prepare the frosting by mixing the listed ingredients in a bowl.
Once the cake is baked, set it aside for 15 minutes to cool off, and after that frost it.
