This Girl’s Therapist Suggested Drawing on Her Body Instead of Cutting, And It Worked Beautifully

Depression is a serious mental disorder and many people in the world fight with it on regular basis, each one of them manifesting in its own way. One of the ways is “non-suicidal self-injury” meaning that the affected person intentionally self-inflicts and destroys its body tissue. According to the statistics one in five people suffer from it.

However, this way of showing that you have certain issues is not well understood. This manifestation of depression is not often talked about, and it is commonly associated with “bad mood” or sadness.

None of the persons that self-harm themselves have the intention to take their lives away, they just intentionally hurt themselves so that they feel alive as in those moments the pain triggers the release of endorphins. But, this self-harm is very risky as the person may damage a vital artery or vein, suffer from serious infections and there are also the permanent scars on the body.

Most of these people visit therapist and one therapist found a perfect solution for one of his patients. He suggested her instead of cutting herself to start drawing something pretty on her skin and do that for 92 days in a row.
